Alon and his family own Ozery's Pita Break (www.pitabreak.com), a rapidly expanding bakery that has made a name for itself by making only chemical- and preservative-free products including all natural pita breads and crackers. "We specialize in making products with lots of grains such as breakfast mueslis, flax and lavash crackers," Ozery says. "We supply health food stores and many Ontario supermarkets."
Pita Break is all about freshness. Without the chemicals and preservatives that are typically used by big bread companies to extend product shelf life, Ozery's Pita Break has become known for its commitment to healthier eating.
"We also use some organic ingredients in our products, which customers love," Ozery says.
In operation for nine years, Pita Break is also well known as a family-run business. "Our pita bread is made from an old family recipe, and I work alongside my family every day," Ozery says. "For me, being able to work with my family is one of the main benefits to entrepreneurship."
Ozery's recipe for success is simple: Stand behind your products or services. "If an entrepreneur commits to producing a quality product, and is proud of it, people will believe in what you're doing and buy from you," he says.
Ozery knows he's found the perfect business for himself. "I've always loved baking and creating food, and I know that I work best on my own terms," he says. "I believe in helping people to live healthy and I like to create things and to spend time with family. I get to do all of those great things in this business."
