Newsletter #12…

Warm Greetings,

To all of our customers, long time and recent, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your on-going support and loyalty to Ozery's Pita Break. Your supportive e-mails, phone calls and spontaneous comments are always welcome and very much appreciated.

Much time has passed since our last newsletter. At that time, we welcomed a baby girl into our family. Now she is almost eight months old and soon it will be time for her to get a paper route. This year, Ozery's Pita Break is one of the proud sponsors of the 2005 Subaru Triathlon Series. This is an event that takes place across southern Ontario throughout the summer. It gives people the opportunity to compete at their own fitness and skill level. For us it is an exciting new venture and we wish all competitors the best of luck and good fun.

On this same topic, we want to share a brief anecdote that makes us feel like we're on the right track. A Pita Break customer and triathlete (same person) was sitting on a bench before his first race eating one of our breakfast pitas. Soon he was joined by one and then another competitor. All were eating a pre-race snack. All three (you guessed it) were eating one of our breakfast pitas and laughing and talking about the coincidence. All three tied for first place and lived happily ever after. (We added this last sentence to create a perfect ending.) They, like we, choose healthy preservative-free products whenever possible. Calcium propionate, a common bread preservative, enjoys widespread use in Canada, the United States and until recently, Australia. Currently, Australia's top selling bread manufacturers are phasing out their use of calcium propionate due to consumer concerns. It is used not to keep bread fresh but to inhibit the growth of mould. By keeping our work areas and utensils meticulously clean and bagging our breads only after they have cooled, we avoid using chemicals and give you a 100% preservative-free product. Of course, this affects the shelf life of our products and ensures you are getting a recently baked product.

Here at Ozery's Pita Break, new products are presently in the development stage. We are very excited about them and hope to begin deliveries to stores within a short time. On the back of this newsletter is a recipe for a tasty healthy dish. Enjoy!

Again, a big thank you from all the Ozery's.

Sincerely,

Guy Ozery, Alon Ozery & Al Y. Ozery
