Newsletter #4… (Winter 2002)

Hello Everyone,

It has been quite a while since I last communicated with you. I hope that the holiday season was good to you and your family and that the new-year brings you good health, peace and contentment.

Our year ended happily with the birth of a healthy baby boy. With an infant son and an active two-year old boy at home, our lives are busy and full. At the bakery, we are involved in a renovation, which will add a storefront bakery.

As well, a new pita is now available in some of our stores. We are calling it our "Apple Cinnamon " breakfast pita and we are very excited about this tasty and nutritious addition to our line. We know that many products containing apples and cinnamon are loaded with sugar and calories. With this in mind, we are particularly pleased to be able to provide you with this low fat breakfast pita which contains less than 1 gram of fat per pita. The scent of apples and cinnamon coming out of our ovens is a delight for all of us working here. We hope that you'll enjoy eating them as much as we've enjoyed creating them.

In our attempts to bring new products to you, we ourselves are always learning. For example, we now know that cinnamon has been popular since ancient times. The Egyptians used it and the Romans believed that it was sacred. Finding cinnamon was a primary motive of world exploration in the 15th and 16th centuries. Cinnamon is known to have medicinal properties. It has been found that cinnamon extracts increase the efficiency of insulin by helping glucose to metabolize . Cooking does not affect the cinnamon's potency. Therefore, it can be added to tea and other baked goods without losing its benefits.

As we continue in our pursuit of bringing you the very best in pita products, I look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions. I thank you again for your enthusiastic support of Pita Break and wish you all the best.

Sincerely,
Alon
