Newsletter #6…
At the end of this newsletter, on the reverse side, we will be sharing our favourite Baba Ganush recipe with you. This is a middle-eastern eggplant recipe which is very flavourful. It is served with pita bread or crackers and can be used as a dip or a spread. It is also very healthy as it contains tahini sauce which is made from nutritious sesame seeds. Summer has flown by and it has been a good one for all our family. We hope yours was good too. My parents have taken a well-deserved vacation and have had the time to host family and friends who have visited from abroad. For me and my brother, Guy, it feels good to be able to give back to them after being on the receiving end for such a long time. Our only concern now is that our father is starting to get lost on his way to the bakery. More and more frequently he is ending up at the airport trying to board a plane to anywhere. As part of our on-going sharing of nutritional information, I would like to tell you about some of the healthy aspects of wheat. Each kernel of wheat contains a Bran fiber-rich outer layer, an Endosperm middle part and a Germ nutrient-rich inner part. Wheat contains complex carbohydrates, which are one of the most efficient sources of energy available to the human body. Its fiber acts as a broom to sweep out the digestive tract. It is low in fat and a reliable source of iron and zinc. It is also a good source of selenium and magnesium, two minerals that are essential to good health.
We are very pleased to announce that our products are available in the Ottawa area as well as in the Niagara Peninsula. We thank you, our customers, for passing the word on our products. We sincerely value your contribution to our growth.
Before closing, I'd like to remind you that since our products are preservative free, it is especially important that in hot and humid weather you freeze your pitas until you are ready to use them. This will prolong their freshness and after a minute in the toaster oven, they will have that "just baked" softness and taste.
